(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Pueblo Community College’s Cosmetology program has returned to the main campus after being located in a different building on Abriendo Avenue for more than a decade.
The newest station for the cosmetology program was inaugurated on Wednesday, June 26, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Now, the program’s latest home is located in the Medical Arts & Technology building, in a renovated space.
The project was made possible by funding from the Colorado General Assembly Capital Development Committee. Amendment 50 funds were also used to purchase new equipment for the Cosmetology program.
The relocation to the main campus provides more space for one of the college’s popular programs, which typically has about 100 students and a waiting list.
The makeover was part of a $6.3 million project that included renovating the Health Sciences building and took about five months. The cosmetology center includes new labs and clinics for estheticians, nail technicians, cosmetology, and barbering programs.
