(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested a wanted parolee from Texas and another from Pueblo.
On Sunday morning, Dec. 22, deputies responded to a suspicious call at a home on El Paso Street in the Salt Creek neighborhood.
While investigating, deputies found two men hiding under a car and learned one of the men, identified as 44-year-old Dustin Bates, was on parole and was wanted on a no-bond Fugitive of Justice warrant from Texas. He also had a warrant from Pueblo County.
Bates also had a loaded gun. He was arrested on the warrants and booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
Deputies also learned the suspicious call came from a man who was also wanted on a warrant, 66-year-old Loren Lizardi, who was arrested and booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
“This is worrisome that we are encountering wanted parolees who have extensive criminal histories and are on the run,” said Pueblo County Sheriff David J. Lucero. “Our deputies responding to routine calls, are coming into contact with wanted felons way too frequently. I commend the deputies for the great work they are doing, chasing these dangerous individuals and taking them into custody. They are holding the line and placed at risk, and our community should recognize their efforts in keeping our community safe.”
