Traffic lights will initially be set to flash red on O’Neal Ave and flash yellow on Prairie Ave to alert drivers to the upcoming signal activation, and will remain on flashing for 72 hours before becoming fully operational. Drivers should keep in mind that the speed limit on Prairie is 35 miles per hour and the speed limit on O’Neal is 30 miles per hour.

The new traffic signal will replace the mid-block pedestrian crossing signal, which was south of O’Neal, with a signal that serves both pedestrians and drivers at the intersection. While installing the signal, crews also improved concrete and paving on Prairie.
