Pueblo Mayor Heather Graham hosts town hall

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Pueblo Mayor Heather Graham hosted the first of several town halls on Wednesday, Sept. 3. The town halls come ahead of November’s election, where Pueblo voters will decide whether to retain the current strong mayor system or revert to a city council-city manager form of government.

During Wednesday’s town hall, Mayor Graham was asked by voters what she has done to tackle the homeless problem, where she highlighted the City’s takeover of the local homeless shelter.

“We house about 40 people there every night in the residence program, and then we house about 40 people there in the emergency program overnight,” she said, “before, we didn’t have any of those emergency services… now we do.”

The next town hall is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Robert Hoag Rawlings Library, located at 100 East Abriendo Avenue. The meeting will be held in the Bret Kelly Room B.
