(PUEBLO, Colo.) — It is that time of the year again as the Colorado State Fair begins on Friday, Aug. 23, and the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is preparing by increasing patrols.
PPD said officers would be patrolling on bicycles and in both marked and unmarked vehicles throughout the area to help with traffic, complaints, and crime. PPD is reminding people to be courteous to those who are in and around the fairgrounds, to respect their property, and to follow traffic laws.
“What we’d prefer is when people come into our community, if they have valuables in their car, lock their car. Don’t leave your purse, don’t leave your keys in your car. If you’ve got anything in the vehicle that you don’t want taken, make sure it’s hidden out of plain view. That way we don’t have issues with people breaking into cars,” said Daniel Anderson, Captain of the PPD.
The Colorado State Fair runs through Sept. 2 with performances and attractions happening daily.
