(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The City of Pueblo and the Pueblo Fire Department (PFD) will open a new fire station on Friday, Aug. 22.
Fire Station No. 11 will be located at 3205 West 24th Street, near the Pueblo Motorsports Park, and will feature training facilities, updated equipment, and healthier living conditions for firefighters. The new station will also be net-zero efficient, meaning it will produce as much renewable energy as it consumes.
“Additionally, the west side location meets the growing need as Pueblo is adding new apartments, businesses, infrastructure, and homes to the west side and the Pueblo Boulevard corridor. Station No. 11’s opening expands the Pueblo Fire Department’s reach and improves call times in the area,” according to the press release.
Station No. 11’s grand opening will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, followed by a public open house at 4 p.m., with PFD Chief Bard Huber, Mayor Heather Graham, City Council President Mark Aliff, and the Vice President of Pueblo Operations for Nunn Construction, Vinnie Mattivi, in attendance.
