(PUEBLO, Colo.) — FOX21 News reached out to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) to learn more about a victim identified in a fatal car crash that occurred on Thursday, July 25, who was recently identified.
Around 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, a 43-year-old woman, identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office as Erica Veronica Vigil, was driving eastbound in a Toyota Corolla on Highway 50 near milepost 319, which is in the area of Langdon Street, reported CSP.
According to CSP, the car failed to navigate a left curve and went off the right side of the road, colliding with a highway sign. The Corolla continued traveling eastbound off-road, rotating counter-clockwise, and collided with a chain link fence and a second highway sign. It then went airborne and rolled before coming to a rest on its roof, facing west.
CSP reported that Vigil, who had not been wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and declared dead at the scene. She was driving alone and no one else was injured. Alcohol, drugs, and excessive speed were not suspected in this incident.
