(PUEBLO, Colo.) — To celebrate reaching a major milestone in the progress of the new Riverwalk Boathouse Project, the Riverwalk has invited community members to be a part of a signing ceremony.
The Boathouse is a two-story public serving facility with a roof-top deck overlooking the Riverwalk. The newest addition aims to enhance the Riverwalk experience with historic tour boat rides, additional restrooms, and the opportunity to rent both the rooftop and waterfront conference rooms for public and private events.
On Wednesday, Jan. 8, the public is invited to the construction site at 11 a.m. to be a part of the Beam Signing Ceremony, a symbolic tradition in construction projects that allows attendees to sign a steel beam that will be incorporated into the final structure.
The ceremony will include brief remarks from Mayor Heather Graham and Pueblo County Commissioners Eppie Griego, Daneya Esgar, and Zach Swearingen. Then the raising of the beam will follow.
The event will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at 185 S. Santa Fe Avenue.
