(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs is warning the public of a road closure near downtown overnight Monday, April 7, at 9 p.m. into Tuesday, April 8, at 5 a.m.
The I-25 South Connector Road, between South Tejon Street and South Nevada Avenue, along with S. Tejon St. between Brookside Street and I-25 ramps will be closed overnight Monday for crews to place pavement markings, install signage, and perform traffic signal work.
The City said the I-25 South Connector Road and the northbound S. Tejon St. closures will happen first and once work has finished, crews will reopen those segments and close southbound S. Tejon St.
Detours in place during the first closure on Monday night will be:
Northbound traffic on South Tejon Street is advised to take Brookside Street to South Nevada Avenue to I-25 North Connector Road to South Tejon Street.
Northbound traffic on South Tejon Street to East Motor Way is advised to take Brookside Street to Woodburn Street to East Motor Way.
Southbound traffic on South Tejon Street to I-25 southbound is advised to take South Tejon Street to Brookside Street to South Nevada Avenue to I-25 South.
Detours for the second closure on Monday night will be:
Southbound traffic on South Tejon Street is advised to take I-25 South Connector Road to South Nevada Avenue to Brookside Street to South Tejon Street.
Southbound traffic on South Tejon Street to westbound East Motor Way is advised to take I-25 South Connector Road to South Nevada Avenue to Brookside Street to Woodburn Street to East Motor Way.
Eastbound traffic on East Motor Way to South Tejon Street is advised to take Woodburn Street to Brookside Street to South Tejon Street.
Drivers are encouraged to plan for additional travel time and to seek alternate routes. If work is delayed or interrupted, a second closure of southbound S. Tejon St. is planned for Tuesday, at 9 p.m. through Wednesday, April 9, at 5 a.m.
