“Saxsquatch” sighting in Colorado

(COLORADO) — The search for the elusive Big Foot has captivated many for decades, and while the creature remains at large, Big Foot’s talented cousin, “Saxsquatch,” isn’t hard to find.

In fact, Saxsquatch is making a big foot…print on Colorado right now, bringing his tour to the Centennial State for three performances. FOX21’s Abbie Burke caught up with Saxsquatch in Wyoming before he made his way to the Rockies.

Originally from the woods of North Carolina, Saxsquatch is taking the world by song.

“I learned to play the sax just because I heard it for the first time and loved it so much, [and] I knew that it was what I had to do,” he said. “It’s kind of one of those spiritual things, and I became obsessed with it and earned the nickname Saxsquatch.”

The multi-instrumentalist, producer, and electronic music artist has acquired a massive social media following, and at seven feet tall, his stage presence is undeniable.

“The show [is] not just one style of music,” he added. “We go from swampy tempo to like a house tempo to dubstep tempo, so all kinds of music and vibes.”

Away from the stage, Saxsquatch is also making some big strides in Hollywood.

“Well, I’ll say Jimmy Fallon was incredibly nice; a charming man,” he said. “John Oates from Hall and Oates…. we did a remake of “Maneater” together.”

Recently, Saxsquatch took a big leap of faith and launched “The Footprints Tour,” with stops all across America and features both remixes and original songs.

“So far, we’ve done 26 sold-out shows, so pretty insane,” Saxsquatch said. “The crowds have been absolutely wild… [and the] vibes are so electric in the air during the show.”

The hope is that you will leave inspired, or at least as a believer.

“It feels really good to be believed in,” he said. “And that’s the message that I’m spreading to other people… let’s love each other [and] come together.”

While the Colorado Springs concert at The Black Sheep is sold out, two other performances this week still have tickets available.

On Wednesday, April 16, Saxsquatch will be performing in Fort Collins at The Aggie Theatre and will play again on Thursday, April 17, in Denver at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.
