School celebrates back-to-back state championships

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Rampart High School Marching Band did it again! Rampart High School students won the marching band state championship, giving Rampart the title for a second year in a row.

The band posted an 88.25 score at the Colorado Bandmasters Association 4A State Championships. The band swept the High Music Performance, High Visual Performance, and High General Effect categories.

At a school assembly held on Thursday, Oct. 30, the marching band held a special performance.

“The past three months of hard work out in the sun, moving around, doing all of the things, is just part of the journey, and then watching them take the field and stand up tall and smile for their mom and dad in the stands,” said Keith Acuncius, Band Director at Rampart High School. “At the end of that final note is just something that is an incredible experience.”
