Semitrailer drives off I-270 onto road below in Commerce City: Police

DENVER (KDVR) — A semitrailer drove off Interstate 270 early Tuesday morning in Commerce City, causing a road closure in the area and what appeared to be structure damage, police said.

The truck fell on 56th Avenue below I-270, closing 56th Avenue between Eudora and Sand Creek streets, the Commerce City Police Department said in a 5:29 a.m. X post.

Police said the driver’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police also said it “appears” there was structure damage of some sort but did not say the extent of the damage. A photo shared by police shows what appeared to be two trailers on the road, one of which was on its side.

No other vehicles were involved, and police said 56th Avenue will be closed for a while.
