Sheriff’s Office tickets drivers racing 40 mph over speed limit

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Saturday, March 30 an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped two drivers who were racing and going almost twice the speed limit.

According to EPSO, on Saturday evening, a traffic enforcement deputy stopped two drivers who were racing down Woodmen Road traveling 97 mph in a 55 mph zone.

EPSO said both drivers were given 32-point tickets and were written for speeding, engaging in a speed contest, and Reckless Driving.

“Slow down, El Paso County! There is absolutely no reason to be driving 42 miles over the speed limit,” wrote EPSO.
