DENVER (KDVR) — A woman died after colliding with a tree while skiing in Aspen on Saturday.
It happened at Aspen Highlands Ski Resort on the Exhibition run just before 11:30 a.m.
The Aspen Skiing Company said in a press release that ski patrol responded immediately and found the 22-year-old woman unconscious and non-responsive.
They started advanced lifesaving measures immediately and were in contact with the emergency room doctor at Aspen Valley Hospital.
However, the woman was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m. on the scene, according to the release.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time,” the Aspen Skiing Company said.
No further details were immediately released.
