(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — El Paso County Sheriff and Fire Warden Joseph Roybal has lifted Stage I Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas of El Paso County.
Sheriff Roybal said following a comprehensive assessment of fuel conditions and resources available across the Front Range, he has decided to lift Stage I fire restrictions, becoming effective at noon on Friday, Aug. 9.
“While the formal restrictions have been lifted, I encourage citizens and visitors to continue cautiously with open flames and other fire-related activities. This will ensure the ongoing safety and protection of the place we call home, El Paso County.”
Sheriff Roybal thanked the community for its support and diligence in following previous restrictions which he said were crucial in protecting and preventing wildfires in the Pikes Peak Region.
