(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Friday, May 31, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received an online report regarding a stolen cargo trailer, which was later recovered with the victim’s help, according to the CSPD.

After submitting the online report, the victim located their trailer in a yard in the 2300 block of West Bijou Street in Old Colorado City and notified the police. According to CSPD, officers responded and contacted the person living in the home and others on the scene.

CSPD said the “resident advised the trailer had shown up and was left by a friend.” Officers confirmed the trailer was the one that had been reported stolen but discovered the contents had been removed.

After obtaining a warrant to search the house and a vehicle, officers recovered most of the stolen property from inside. The occupant was arrested and booked into the county jail.
