Suspect and victim identified in North Carefree Circle stabbing

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the victim and the suspect in a deadly stabbing that occurred on Tuesday night, June 10.

At around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, CSPD received a call for service regarding a stabbing in the 3500 block of North Carefree Circle, off Academy Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a man, identified as 23-year-old Camden Mills, with at least one stab wound. Life-saving efforts were performed, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Responding officers also located a suspect who was taken into custody. Daveione Manning, 22, was charged with First-Degree Murder and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death; this stabbing is being investigated as a homicide.
