(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — Law enforcement on Fort Carson is investigating and traffic on post is being rerouted after “suspicious packages” were discovered.

According to Fort Carson, the suspicious packages were found at Crows Foot Bridge near the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team’s footprint area. The 71st Ordnance Group – Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Fort Carson Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) were responding as of about 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Fort Carson asked the community to avoid the Crows Foot Bridge area on Butts Road until further notice. DES is on scene, detouring traffic.

Fort Carson said it would provide more information as it becomes available.
