(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — The Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD) said a SWAT training exercise will be conducted at a motel on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

According to MSPD, on Tuesday El Paso County SWAT will be conducting a training session on breaching, team movements, and operations at the Dillon Motel located at 134 Manitou Avenue. The training is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. involving loud noises and explosions as part of their standard procedures.

MSPD is letting the public know of the training to prevent alarm in case of visible SWAT team activity. MSPD wanted to let the public know that the training is being conducted under highly secure and monitored conditions.
