(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — On Saturday, Oct. 19 Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell hosted the Honorary Deputy Sheriff Association (HDSA) Turkey Shoot.

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said on Saturday, that community members braved the cold to compete for turkey prizes. Joining Sheriff Mikesell was Undersheriff John Gomes and HDSA vice president Joe Tanis.

The event was supported by full-time and reserve deputies along with TCSO’s volunteer Sheriff’s Posse.

The event was won by Rick Byrd using a “plinker” .22.
