The future of the Pikes Peak Region: ‘Our Spacious Skies’ effort underway, days left to take community survey

(PIKES PEAK REGION, Colo.) — A survey to help guide the future of El Paso and Teller counties is coming to a close, and the community is invited to give their feedback on what’s working and what’s not working in the Pikes Peak Region.

The ‘Our Spacious Skies’ survey can be accessed here.

In 2024, the Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF) teamed up with a Steering Committee of leaders across El Paso and Teller counties to launch the multi-month effort to help identify the community’s shared priorities through extensive research, including surveys, focus groups, and innovative data collection methods.

“The Pikes Peak region has so much going for it, and as we grow, it’s crucial that we have a clear, unified understanding of what residents value most and why, so that vision is front and center,” said PPCF CEO Margaret Dolan.

There are two phases of ‘Our Spacious Skies‘; “Phase I focuses on uncovering the values and needs of community members, while Phase II transforms those insights into a tangible data suite,” according to the PPCF.

“The key is making sure we are all working toward the same goals, that those goals are rooted in the values, hopes, and dreams of the people who live here, and that we are harnessing the aligned power of philanthropy, business, and government to accomplish them,” said Dolan.

Dolan will join FOX21 Morning News on Friday, Sept. 12, to speak more about ‘Our Spacious Skies’ and how community members can make sure their voices are heard.
