DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Broncos are cutting it close to making the playoffs, but there’s still a chance.
After the big win against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, the Broncos needed one more win to get to the playoffs. However, after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Broncos are left with one more chance, and it’s against the top team in the AFC.
There are two ways the Broncos could clinch a playoff spot.
The first way the Broncos could make the playoffs is by winning or tying their last game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Broncos were not only close to beating their Chiefs earlier this season, but this game could also depend on who the Chiefs put on the field. Since the Chiefs have already secured a playoff spot, they could rest up some of their top players and rely on backups.
According to DraftKings, a sports betting website, the money line, or wager for which team will win the game, lies with the Broncos. According to the site, the Broncos are the favorite to win at -520 while the Chiefs are the underdogs at +390.
However, losing to the Chiefs isn’t a dealbreaker for the Broncos.
If the Broncos can’t pull out a win for their last game, they could also make it to the playoffs if the Miami Dolphins and Bengals lose or tie their games over the weekend.
To make the playoffs, DraftKings puts the Broncos at -550 to make the playoffs and +400 to not make the playoffs. In short, it means the sports betting company believes they will likely make the playoffs.
The Broncos play the Chiefs on Sunday at 2:25 p.m. at Empower Field.
