(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Thousands have donated their Christmas Tree to TreeCycle and are helping donate to youth programs in the Colorado Springs area by doing so.
More than 3,000 trees have been kept out of landfills and turned into useful mulch. Those who have donated their tree have helped donate more than $16,000 to area youth development programs.
Although the holiday season is over, TreeCycle plans to keep on giving and accepting tree donations throughout January at Rocky Top Resources located at 1755 East Las Vegas Street. There is a $5 suggested minimum donation for dropped-off trees. Donations are also being accepted online.
All decorations, stands, and spikes must be removed from trees before drop-off. Only natural trees qualify for TreeCycle.
