(LAMAR, Colo.) — As our ‘We Are Southeast Colorado’ week continues, our next stop was in Lamar, where every year a special tribute is hosted by a group of volunteers to honor the men and women who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute was founded to honor first responders and military members while also helping to promote a sense of patriotism in children who live in the area.

The 9/11 Tri-State Tribute Foundation holds a day of tribute every year and also created a 9/11 memorial in Lamar to always remember those who sacrificed so much.
