Two arrested allegedly breaking into RVs in Pueblo County

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Two people have been arrested after they were caught allegedly breaking into RVs on private property east of Pueblo city limits and stealing items.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies responded around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1800 block of South La Crosse Avenue, just north of Highway 50. A caller reported seeing a man break in to his trailer on a security camera before the burglar allegedly took down the camera.

Deputies arrived on scene in less than 10 minutes, and upon arrival, saw two men take off running through the fenced property. Deputies chased the two men and repeatedly ordered them to stop, PCSO said.

One of the suspects, identified as 36-year-old Steven Griego, was captured. The second suspect, identified as 31-year-old Deyon Jaramillo, hid in some brush but was quickly apprehended.

Deputies searched the property and found several items that were reportedly taken from the RV, including the security camera. Deputies also discovered that several other RVs on the property had been broken into, though it is unclear if anything was stolen from them until law enforcement can speak with the owners.

Jaramillo, of Denver, was arrested for second degree burglary, theft, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and a fugitive warrant. Griego was arrested for second degree burglary, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, theft, and three outstanding warrants. Additional charges may be added, PCSO said.
