Two killed in Pueblo Blvd single car crash identified

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Coroner has identified two people who were killed on Dec. 19 after the car they were in hit a guardrail on Pueblo Boulevard at high speeds.

Officers with the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) originally responded to a crash on Thursday morning, Dec. 19, on Pueblo Boulevard, where the road curves between Vinewood Lane and O’Neal Avenue.

According to police, the car was travelling at a high rate of speed as it approached the curve, hit a guardrail, crashed through a fence, and landed in the backyard of a home on Taylor Lane.

There were reportedly four passengers in the car at the time of the crash. According to the Pueblo County Coroner, 25-year-old David Caporicci and 26-year-old Daren Elizondo were killed. Pueblo Boulevard was closed for several hours during the crash investigation.

PPD said alcohol was being considered as a factor in the crash.
