(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Two teen boys have been charged in a string of armed robberies in which eight establishments were robbed or burglarized in just over an hour on a morning in March.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), during the early morning hours of March 25, 2025, a group of three suspects allegedly robbed or attempted to rob six convenience stores, burglarized another convenience store, and burglarized a barber shop. CSPD said these incidents occurred in just over an hour’s timespan, between 3:47 a.m. and 4:51 a.m.
Two of the incidents occurred in El Paso County and the remainder took place in the City of Colorado Springs.
CSPD’s Robbery Unit took the lead on the investigations, in conjunction with detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. Through their investigation, detectives learned that three people armed with an AR-style weapon stole money and vape products from the businesses. In the two burglaries, the suspects broke into businesses in an attempt to gain access to cash machines.
Through victim statements and video surveillance, detectives determined that the same three people were responsible for all the incidents. They also discovered that the suspects had allegedly used a stolen car to carry out the crimes, which was found abandoned later that day in March.
Over the course of six months, detectives followed up on several investigative leads and were able to identify two of the three suspects as minors. In August of 2025, the CSPD Robbery Unit, with the assistance of the Denver Police Department and Aurora Police Department, served search warrants at two homes, which connected the two teen boys to the crime spree.
On Sept. 16, the Robbery Unit obtained arrest warrants in connection with all robberies and burglaries for both teens, who were 15 and 16 years old. Both were reportedly already in custody on unrelated matters and were served the warrants on Sept. 22. The third suspect remains unidentified.
This remains an ongoing investigation, and anyone with any information is asked to call CSPD at (719)444-7000. To remain anonymous, call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
