(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Two people have been taken to the hospital following a shooting at a park on the city’s east side on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded to a shots fired call just before 5 p.m. at High Meadows Park, southeast of North Powers Boulevard and Barnes Road.
CSPD said two people were taken to the hospital, one of them with life-threatening injuries. CSPD said a suspect is not currently in custody.
CSPD said it is actively investigating the shooting and asks the public to avoid the area. If anyone has information or is a witness to the shooting, you are asked to contact CSPD at (719)444-7000.
