“Urgent call for help”: National Mill Dog Rescue takes in 52 critical dogs

(PEYTON, Colo.) — National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) said it is answering an urgent call for help, taking in 52 dogs after they have endured years of neglect and suffering.

According to NMDR, many of the dogs are seniors and arrived in poor condition with severely matted coats and untreated medical needs. NMDR’s team will work to provide each dog with the grooming, medical care, and behavioral support.

“These dogs have waited their entire lives to know compassion,” said Sarah Thompson, Director of Operations for NMDR. “We’re committed to showing them the love, safety, and care they’ve been denied for so long—but we can’t do it alone.”

NMDR is calling for the community’s help to care for, rehabilitate, and eventually adopt the dogs. Support is needed in the form of donations, foster homes, volunteers, and supplies. NMDR said every contribution makes a life-changing difference.

Once the dogs are ready, they will be made available for adoption into loving homes, according to NMDR.
