Victim in early morning Pueblo shooting identified

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of an early morning shooting that happened on the west side of Pueblo as a 25-year-old, Amos Martinez.

On Thursday, April 3, at around 8:45 a.m., the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) was called to a home in the 1900 block of West 21st Street, near Tuxedo Boulevard and West 18th Street, about a report of a dead body.

When police arrived, they found Amos Martinez with a gunshot wound on the front porch of a home. Amos was declared dead on the scene. PPD started a homicide investigation and identified the suspect as 21-year-old Andrew Martinez, who was arrested on First-Degree Murder charges.

The Pueblo County Coroner said the investigation is ongoing.
