Victims sought in possible ministry luring case

(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The Fountain Police Department (FPD) is looking for more potential victims after a man who hosted a ministry service in his home was arrested for trying to meet up with a 13-year-old girl.

According to FPD, 35-year-old Christopher Shaffer was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 8, following an investigation into Internet Luring of a Child. Shaffer allegedly planned to meet up with a 13-year-old girl at a retail store in the City of Fountain, FPD said.

After the arrest, detectives learned that People’s Fellowship Ministries hold in-home church services, where children have been in attendance, at Shaffer’s home in the City of Colorado Springs.

FPD detectives are seeking any additional witnesses or victims who may have information relating to the investigation. Shaffer has been booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on a felony charge for Internet Luring of a Child.
