WATCH: Quick response stops spread of car fire

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A car fire in the morning hours of Wednesday, Feb. 21 was quickly put out thanks in part to where the fire happened and how quickly crews could respond, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD).

CSFD said on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. firefighters were called to a car fire at 3770 Airport Road off of South Academy Boulevard. The fire was across the street from CSFD Station 8, which allowed for a one-minute response time.

Firefighters quickly pulled up to the car and had the fire out in about eight minutes, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby cars and grass areas, according to CSFD.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
