(COLORADO SPRINGS) — West Campus students have a nice surprise waiting for them for the first day of school, as a new rock climbing wall has been installed in their gym.
The rock climbing wall was installed in the West Campus Gym in partnership with CityROCK over the summer, ahead of the first day of school.
Principal Michael Anderson says, “At West, our mission and vision is around community partnerships, and we reached out to CityROCK, and City Rock came in and helped us remodel our wall and set it up for success so that students from kindergarten to 8th grade can have a rock wall experience.”
Principal Anderson says he tells people that West Campus is actively looking for partnerships to give students real-world opportunities.
You can learn more about West Campus by checking out their website here.
West Campus has close to 350 kids attending, from preschool-aged kids to 8th graders. The first day of school starts on Aug. 12.
Teachers at West are excited to have kids back and to see their reactions when they see the rock climbing wall for the first time.
