(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Westbound lanes of Austin Bluffs Parkway will be closed between Union Boulevard and Academy Boulevard starting Friday morning, Aug. 23 and lasting through Sunday morning, Aug. 25, due to emergency repairs on a wastewater main.

The City of Colorado Springs said the wastewater main was damaged by a contractor performing gas line work in the area on Monday, Aug. 19, prompting emergency repairs. The City said repairs were scheduled for Friday due to the complexity of the repair and the resulting traffic impacts.

The City said only local access would be allowed between Academy Boulevard and Goldenrod Drive, and westbound lanes will be completely closed from Goldenrod and Union.

 Friday, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. – Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.

The City said wastewater is being managed through the repair process, and Springs Utilities expects no impact to utility services for nearby customers.
