(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Some may have noticed some smoke on the roof of Citadel Mall on Tuesday morning, Nov. 12, don’t fret though, it is not a fire.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to Citadel Mall on Tuesday morning at around 10:45 a.m. CSFD said via X (formerly known as Twitter), that they are currently investigating a malfunctioning HVAC unit that put visible smoke out on the roof.
“There is no fire at this time,” CSFD wrote. “The HVAC unit has been shut off.”
Fire crews said there is ‘very minor’ fire/smoke damage to the unit and there is currently no smoke or fire right now. Crews will remain on scene until the issue is mitigated and to ensure there is no extension.
