(COLORADO SPRINGS) —The City of Colorado Springs is launching a new texting service to help neighbors stay engaged with their local government, and is encouraging people to sign up for a chance to win big prizes.
The new texting service gives weekly updates from the City and monthly updates from Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services. It is an easy way to stay informed and engaged on what goes on in Colorado Springs.
“This is a brand new texting service that the City of Colorado Springs is offering to residents,” said Joe Hollman, City of Colorado Springs Engagement and Marketing Specialist. “It’s a way that people can stay informed and engaged around what the City is up to, what we are doing, major updates on road construction, events, engagement opportunities, things like that.”
To celebrate, the City is offering one epic prize package for community members who sign up for City alerts.
The grand prize totals nearly $1,700 in value and includes experiences across Colorado Springs including:
Four packs of tickets to access Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain.
Four packs of tickets to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum.
Two tickets to the Colorado College Tiger Hockey game vs. UNLV on Dec. 29.
Four tickets to the Air Force Football game vs. Oregon State on Nov. 16.
Four tickets to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 2025 home opener.
Foursome package for 18 holes to Patty Jewett Golf Course.
Foursome package for 18 holes to Valley Hi Golf Course.
Four packs of tickets to Sertich Ice Center, skate rental included.
Hybl Center Performance Package – unlimited access to adult large classes, a gait analysis, and an InBody Body Composition Measurement.
You can enter to win the random drawing by subscribing to the City’s newsletter ‘Colorado Springs Weekly’ and the new texting service by Friday, Nov. 1. Participants must live in Colorado Springs and be at least 18 years old.
“We hear from residents all the time that they want to know how they can stay informed, and texting is one of the easiest ways to receive short, quick updates that matter to residents,” said Hollmann. “By just signing up, residents enter in to win a truly amazing prize package that includes tickets for them and their friends or family.”
