(PUEBLO, Colo.) — A woman was arrested late Sunday evening, Jan. 28, after she allegedly carjacked a man she had met several hours prior on the east side of Pueblo.
According to the Pueblo Police Department (PPD), officers responded around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday night to a report of a carjacking with a handgun near the intersection of Troy Avenue and East 12th Street.
PPD said the victim had reported he had been threatened with a handgun by the woman he had met several hours prior, and that the woman was assisted in the crime by an unknown man. PPD said officers later found the stolen car near the intersection of East 4th St and Glendale Avenue.
After a short chase, the driver of the stolen car, identified as 21-year-old Kaylee Segura, was arrested, though PPD said she struggled with officers trying to take her into custody. PPD also said Segura had an outstanding warrant from the Colorado Department of Corrections for Motor Vehicle Theft.
Segura was booked into jail on multiple charges:
Aggravated Robbery
Felony Theft
Second Degree Kidnapping
Reckless Endangerment
Reckless Driving
Vehicular Elduing
PPD did not say whether the man who allegedly helped Segura in the carjacking was apprehended or faces any charges.
