Woman arrested in Custer County triple shooting released from jail

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A woman who was arrested on Accessory charges in connection to a triple homicide in Custer County has posted bond and was released from jail, according to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Nancy Rae Medina-Kochis was found in a Dodge Ram pickup in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area on Tuesday, Nov. 21, following a manhunt for her boyfriend, Hanme Clark, who allegedly shot four people over a property dispute. Three of those victims, 63-year-old Rob Geers, 73-year-old Beth Wade Geers, and 58-year-old James Daulton, died as a result of their gunshot injuries. The fourth victim, Patty Daulton, was injured in the shooting.

Medina-Kochis was arrested on charges of Accessory to a Crime, though CCSO has not specified how she was involved with the shooting. Medina-Kochis and Hanme Clark both unsuccessfully fought extradition back to Colorado to stand trial, according to CCSO.

On Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, CCSO posted on Facebook and said Medina-Kochis had posted a cash-only $100,000 bond and had been released from the El Paso County Jail, where she was being held, over the weekend.

Medina-Kochis is due back in Custer County Court on March 12 for a motions hearing.
