(GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.) — Montanya Distillery, a woman-owned and operated distillery in Crested Butte, has been creating high-mountain American rum since 2008.
Distilled at 9,000 feet above seas level, Montanya’s rum is unique in that the distillery doesn’t add any sugar, color, or flavoring back into the rum. The result is an atypical rum with a distinct smoothness achieved from whiskey barrel aging.
