(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — A Woodland Park woman has been arrested after police said they found a missing child inside her bedroom closet.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18 at around 1 p.m., the Woodland Park Police Department (WPPD) received a call about a 9-year-old who was reported missing from her home. According to a post by Woodland Park police on Tuesday, officers responded to Hikers View Apartments, near Highway 67 and Valley View Drive, to try and locate the missing minor based on information they had received from her mother.
Police chased leads and continued search efforts throughout the day without any success.
During an earlier interaction with the missing girl’s neighbors, officers came in contact with 38-year-old Christina Ann Guerrero. WPPD said that during their time at the apartment complex, they also had multiple other interactions with Guerrero. “…She allowed us to come inside and search her apartment, despite the fact that she was adamant Audrey was not inside.”

At that time, the 9-year-old was not located inside the apartment.
Officers continued to investigate the case and were later assisted by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). After speaking with the minor’s mother again, another systematic door-to-door search for the child began, and at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, officers made contact with Guerrero again.
CBI agents and WPPD officers went inside her apartment to look for the minor, and at that time, they located the 9-year-old unharmed in a bedroom closet.
Police said Guerrero was arrested and now faces a felony charge of Harboring a Child and another for Influencing Public Officials. She is currently being processed at the Teller County Jail.
