Woodland Park students ask southern Colorado astronaut questions about space, science, and technology

(WOODLAND PARK, Colo) — Students at Woodland Park High School got to ask their biggest questions about space directly to an astronaut floating among the stars. Woodland Park High and U.S Air Force Academy graduate Nichole Ayers spoke with students directly over a 20-minute Space to Earth call.

The questions covered a broad range of topics, from what projects Ayers and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are working on at the International Space Station to how the astronauts work out and if the station smells funny.

“It smells pretty clean in here, but we have kind of what we call the smelly module,” Ayers said. The node three is where people are running on the treadmill, but it kind of depends on which part of the station you’re in.”
