1.5 year old boy who went missing in Silverthorne found dead

DENVER (KDVR) — A one-and-a-half-year-old boy was reported missing in Silverthorne, according to authorities, and at 6:15 p.m., the town reported that the boy’s body had been found.

“The Town of Silverthorne is processing a tragic and heartbreaking incident in our community,” the town said in its announcement. “Our hearts go out to the family who lost a loved one and to emergency responders who were involved in the incident.”

The town of Silverthorne reported that the Silverthorne Police Department, along with other law enforcement, were searching for the missing boy as of 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The agency first reported the missing child on social media at about 3:45 p.m.

At about 5 p.m., the child’s body was found.

The search was based out of the Willow Grove Open Space in Silverthorne. First responders were searching the Blue River and surrounding area for him.

Police said the child was wearing a green sweatshirt, blue jean shorts and white velcro Nikes.
