DENVER (KDVR) — Nearly a dozen people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving multiple vehicles happened in Aurora on Sunday.
The crash happened on Parker Road near the Cherry Creek Reservoir.
The Aurora Police Department told FOX31 that the driver of one vehicle was believed to be speeding when they crashed into at least four other vehicles.
As a result, two vehicles rolled and at least 11 people were taken to the hospital, police said.
The adult male driver of the vehicle that police believe hit the other vehicles and his juvenile male passenger sustained severe injuries in the crash.
Northbound Parker Road was closed from Quincy Avenue to E. Hampden Avenue.
Southbound Parker Road remained open, but police said there were a lot of backups. Police were asking the public to avoid S. Atcheson Way.
At 6:48 p.m., the police department posted on X saying the road closure was expected to last for at least another hour.
