(TRINIDAD, Colo.) — On Tuesday, Jan. 30, officers from the Trinidad Police Department (TPD) found and seized 37.5 pounds of drugs during a traffic stop.
According to TPD, officers stopped a car on I-25 in Trinidad and then became suspicious that the people in the car might be involved in drug trafficking. The officers received consent form the occupants to search the car, and found the drugs–six packages containing over 170,000 suspected fentanyl pills. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be over $1,000,000.
TPD said it is believed that the pills were being delivered for distribution in Colorado.
