(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested two minors for armed robbery and burglary.
In the early morning hours on Jan. 1, CSPD received a call for service for an armed robbery at a gas station in the 1100 block of Aeroplaza Drive, near Powers Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers talked to the victim, who said two suspects entered the business and one was armed with a handgun. The victim also told officers the suspects moved them around the business while demanding money and vape products. After taking an undisclosed amount of money and product, the suspects left the scene.
The CSPD Robbery Unit took the lead in the investigation and identified two suspects who were minors. They also later discovered that after the first alleged robbery, they apparently committed a second burglary in unincorporated El Paso County the same morning at a gas station in the 1800 block of Main Street, near Bradley Road.
On Monday, Feb. 10, officers received arrest warrants for the two minors on charges related to the armed robbery and the burglary. On Thursday, Feb. 13, the CSPD Robbery Unit was assisted by members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), and Fountain Police and arrested the two suspects.
“CSPD would like to thank EPSO and Fountain PD for their help and professionalism in apprehending two dangerous juvenile suspects,” CSPD said.
