These Southern Colorado locations are under Red Flag Warnings

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The City of Manitou Springs and the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) have issued a Red Flag Warning from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3.

According to the City and Sheriff’s Office, combined conditions of warm temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds are expected to increase the risk of fire danger.

Whenever a Red Flag Warning is in effect in Manitou Springs, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are automatically enacted for the duration, including:

An open burning ban that prohibits the use of any outside fire.

An outdoor smoking ban prohibiting the use of any tobacco product or similar material in cigarettes, cigars, or pipes.

Prohibited sale and use of fireworks and explosives.

Restrictions on dangerous equipment use, including any that emit sparks or open flame without access to a chemical pressurized fire extinguisher equal to or exceeeding a rating of 2A 10BC.
