Access to Garden of the Gods to be temporarily limited

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs announced that access to Garden of the Gods Park will be limited on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, due to the ongoing waterline installation project.

According to the City, the park will remain open to visitors, but certain areas and access points will be affected, including Juniper Way Loop, which will be closed all day Thursday and Friday at Gateway Drive. During the closure, visitors can park in Parking Lot 1 and walk into the park through the Gateway and Bretag trails or drive into the park on Ridge Road. Vehicles must exit the park at Gateway Road during this time.

Alternative entrances include:

Balanced Rock, off Garden Drive

Ridge Road, off West Pikes Peak Avenue

Beckers Lane, off Manitou Avenue

Rock Ledge Ranch, available from Parking Lot 1, walk-in access only

For those who want to visit popular attractions such as Balanced Rock, Siamese Twins, and the Garden of the Gods Trading Post, access will still be possible via Beckers Lane and Garden Lane.

Visitors can also access Garden of the Gods through Rock Ledge Ranch from Parking Lot 1. The grounds of Rock Ledge Ranch are free and open to the public daily and offer walk-in access to Garden of the Gods from dawn to dusk.

The Garden of the Gods Nature Center will remain open during this time and will continue to offer educational resources and amenities for guests.

According to the City, the waterline project is at 97% completion, with final touch-ups in progress.
