All ages welcome: Colorado Springs Bike to Work Day

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Get your helmets ready and sack lunches packed, the City of Colorado Springs wants you to get out and get active for bike to work day.

The City of Colorado Springs will host Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 26. The City is encouraging riders of all ages to get out on the trails around the city and visit the various special outposts along the way.

“We will have anything from mocktails to massage tables, and Mayor Yemi Mobolade will be at the Popcycle Bridge flipping pancakes,” said Kerry Childress, Bike to Work Day Coordinator for the City of Colorado Springs.

Among several outposts, the City has teamed up to offer other activities to get out on your bike. They will have several bike clinics for the rest of the month. In addition, if you don’t have a bike, Pike Ride will also be offering two free hours to rent a bike. You can find more about the event, trails, outposts, and other offerings here.

You also do not need to be an experienced rider to participate. All ages are welcome. “It’s terrific for health reasons, it’s great for the environment and it’s just great for community participation and comradery,” said Childress.
