Almost 10,000 people lost power temporarily on Monday

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A power outage was reported on the southeast side of the city on Monday, Feb. 26, and Colorado Springs Utilities (Springs Utilities) said close to 10,000 customers were impacted for about 15 minutes.

The outage was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, according to Springs Utilities’ outage map. The outage was impacting 9,852 customers northwest of Peterson Space Force Base and the Colorado Springs Airport, including the FOX21 News station, but power was quickly restored to the majority of customers just before 2:45 p.m.

A few customers may still be experiencing outages within the highlighted section above. Springs Utilities said these remaining impacted customers should have power restored by about 5:30 p.m.

A reminder to all drivers to treat any dark intersections as four-way stops.
