Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt brings joy to families

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt at the Rosemount Historical Museum in Pueblo brought joy to families once again on Saturday, April 19.

Around 100 children took part in the hunt, divided into three age groups to ensure everyone had a fair shot at finding eggs. Kids also enjoyed games and prizes throughout the day.

Despite the chilly weather, plenty of people showed up, and organizers said the snow actually made the hunt more exciting and a bit more challenging, as eggs were trickier to spot.

The Rosemount Museum has hosted the easter tradition since the 1970s, and it’s now become a multi-generational event. Organizers say it’s heartwarming to see grandparents bringing their grandkids to the same hunt they once enjoyed themselves.

“Rosemont is a Victorian house and museum, and the Victorians were well known for their egg rolls that they would have back in Victorian times, which were basically an Easter egg hunt,” said Deb Darrow, Director at Rosemont Museum. “So they just roll the eggs out on the lawn for children who can then go out and hunt them. So, because of that Victorian nature with our museum, we try and stick with tradition.”

The Rosemount Historical Museum is open for guided tours Tuesdays through Saturdays.
